Climbing and Data

I am always trying to find ways to combine my interests, so I hung a flyer at my local bouldering gym with a link to a climbing survey. After a few weeks I had just over 50 responses. I analyzed the data, created visualizations, and made a small poster which I hung back up in the gym to share the results with other climbers. I was pleased to see that my poster made it onto the gym’s Instagram story.

I found that the climbers who responded had over three years of experience on average, enjoyed green and pink climbing holds, and enjoyed a shape of hold known as a crimp.
